Willow Brook is thrilled to announce our new partnership with Debate Mate, an exciting initiative that champions the power of young voices and critical thinking. This week, our Year 5 Debate Team had the privilege of attending the launch of Debate Mate’s academic year at the historic Emmanuel Hall in Westminster. The atmosphere was electric, with hundreds of passionate young debaters from schools across London coming together to hone their skills and share ideas.
Amid this vibrant gathering, one of our very own, Ottilie from Year 5, shone brightly. Her insightful contributions and thought-provoking question captivated the room, earning her the prestigious ‘Best Speaker’ award! This incredible accolade reflects Ottilie’s hard work, creativity, and sharp critical thinking skills—qualities we celebrate here at Willow Brook.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! This February, we are proud to take our partnership to the next level as we host the first round of the Urban Debate League right here at Willow Brook. Ten visiting schools will join us for an inspiring day of argument, collaboration, and intellectual challenge.
