This month we will be exploring, Maria Gaetana Agnesi who was a famous mathematician born in Milan Italy and lived between 1718-1799. She was the first woman to write a book on Mathematics and also the first to be appointed as a professor of the subject at university level. She devoted the last four decades of her life to studying theology and to charitable work serving the poor.
MATHS CHALLENGES
1. Can you count all of the handles in your house? Create a bar chart to show which room has the most.
2. Using spaghetti or pencils, create all of the roman numerals up to 50!
3. Place a marker on the floor, measure how far you can jump from the marker! Add up your three distances and divide by three to find the mean distance.
4. Create an informative poster on Maria Gaetana Agnesi and the importance of women in STEM.
