We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible success of our first-ever trust-wide Science Camp, which took place this week as part of the Griffin Science Symposium! As proud hosts here at Willow Brook, we loved welcoming our fellow Griffins across the Trust for an immersive two-day STEM experience.
A Day of Discovery
The event kicked off right here at Willow Brook with an inspiring presentation from Dr. Greenwood, who is a senior research fellow for Planetary Space Sciences at The Open University. Throughout the afternoon and evening, students rotated through fascinating activities set up across our school. These included experiencing VR headsets, enjoying a live Science Show in our Small Hall, tackling Robotics in the Main Hall, taking on an Astronaut Assault Course, and completing STEM Challenges.
As night fell, the children enjoyed Stargazing out on the playground and a moment of wonder in our bespoke Galaxy Room.
Exploring the Science Museum
The excitement continued the next morning when our campers departed Willow Brook and travelled across London to South Kensington. The destination was the iconic Science Museum, where the itinerary featured dedicated time for our students to explore the spectacular Wonderlab.
A massive thank you to all the visiting school adults, our own dedicated Willow Brook staff, and the amazing Ambassadors who made this fantastic event possible. We cannot wait to see where these discoveries take our students next! We are also extremely grateful for the support from The Ogden Trust in making this new Proud Tradition come to life.
